One dead after motorcycle travelling in wrong direction collides with car in North York

A young man is dead after a motorcycle travelling in the wrong direction on the southbound Leslie St. ramp at Hwy. 401 collided with another vehicle Sunday evening.

Paramedics responded to a call reporting a collision at 5:31 p.m. A male in his twenties was pronounced dead at the scene.

Toronto Police Service media relations officer Gary Long said the deceased was the driver of the motorcycle. There were no injuries to the passengers in the car. Police could not confirm factors that may have contributed to the crash.

The ramp to Hwy 401 westbound from Leslie St. is closed pending a police investigation. The province’s special investigations unit has taken over the investigation. Police have yet to release the identity of the victim.
