Child suffers life-threatening injuries after motorcycle hit-and-run


A child is facing life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a motorcyclist around 1:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Toronto Police say the boy is believed to be under the age of 5 and was with his mother when he was struck at Victoria Park Ave. and Adair Rd.

The driver fled the scene.

The child was rushed to a trauma centre. Police say he sustained severe injuries to his upper body and head and is in and out of consciousness.

The motorcyclist was last seen heading north on Victoria Park Ave. He’s described as a heavy-set white male between 40 and 50 years old.

Victoria Park Ave. is closed from St. Clair Ave. E. to Yardley Ave. while police investigate.

The 24 Victoria Park bus has been temporarily rerouted via St. Clair Ave. E, Pharmacy Ave. and Holswade Rd.
