Toronto Police say that a body “in a state of decomposition” washed up on shore in Scarborough.
Police received a call around 9:07 a.m., said Const. David Hopkinson. He said the body had washed up on the rocks somewhere in Bluffers Park.
The person’s death is being treated as suspicious and the area has been cordoned off as police investigate, said Toronto Police in a tweet.
“We treat all deaths as suspicious until we know the cause of death. Sometimes we know that very quickly, and other times we have to investigate,” said Hopkinson. “In this situation we’re going to have to investigate to determine what the cause of death is.”
