Good Samaritans sent to hospital after assault at Mississauga collision scene

Three people were taken to hospital after a driver allegedly assaulted two Good Samaritans who tried to help at the scene of a collision early Friday morning, police said.

The driver rolled his car over into a ditch on Highway 403, near Eglinton Ave. E., shortly after 3 a.m, Ontario Provincial Police said.

Police alleged that as cars were driving slowly by the collision scene, the driver tried to enter some of their vehicles.

A man and woman who stopped to help the driver were instead assaulted, police said.

The Good Samaritans, along with the driver, were taken to hospital with minor injuries, Peel paramedics said.

The OPP said their investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
